Pasadena celebrates the birth of the cheeseburger at the Rite Spot Cafe in 1924 (more or less) on West Colorado Boulevard right here in our Crown City of the Valley with a special week devoted to one of America’s favorite foods. We salute Lionel Sternberger for his mastery, insight and daring in placing a piece of cheese atop a hamburger for the first time in recorded culinary history.
